InkSure Technologies Inc. in conjunction with MTM Security has been presented with the prestigious Excellence in Holography Award in the category of Best Applied Security Product. The award was received at the International Hologram Manufacturers Association (IHMA) awards ceremony on October 29, 2012 in Vienna, Austria.

InkSure and MTM received the award for introducing Smartphones into a Turkish government tax mark program. The tax mark system provides a platform where tax marks can be authenticated and track & traced at an item-level as well as system-wide. The mobile application is used by brand owners to authenticate their products; the authentication readings taken by brand owners are recorded and monitored by law enforcement officials in Turkey. By making use of brand owners' natural desire to keep their supply chain free from counterfeit and other illegal activity, law enforcement is able to cast a wider net in which they can more effectively monitor items subject to taxation. This in turn helps law enforcement identify criminal hot-spots and expedite investigations related to counterfeiting, piracy and tax evasion of cultural items.
