Turkish police in Istanbul (in the Avkilar and Bagkilar areas) discovered a crime ring producing counterfeit tax stamps. The police arrested seven people and seized the following goods:

• Approximately 8 million counterfeit tax stamps

• 390 rolls of tax stamps

• 5 machines for printing tax stamps  

• 100 rolls of holograms

• Large quantities of print film

The fake stamps were intended for Ukraine, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan and Russia.

The security features in Ukraine's tax stamps include taggant technology produced by INKSURE. Machine readable taggants allow for easy detection of counterfeit products and documents.
