InkSure Technologies, Inc. (INKS:OB) has two primary lines of business. 1-SmartInk™,concentrates on authentication technologies and 2-SARcode™,its unique advanced chipless RFID solution.
 
SARcode™ RFID Solution
InkSure has developed a revolutionary chipless RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology. The Company is introducing this technology, called “SARcodeTM”,first to the printing industry for very high volume and high speed work flow applications, primarily for item identification, sorting and insertion processes. Production Floor Control is an important application for this new chipless RFID technology. The Company believes that its unique chipless RFID technology is transformative for the RFID market. This disruptive technology gives INKS a defensible position with important advantages that should demonstrate significant organic growth. SARcodeTM is fast, accurate and less expensive than any other RFID tag currently available to the market and provides more information than barcode technology.
 
The SmartInk Division
InkSure provides security solutions, designed to protect branded products and documents of value from counterfeiting, fraud, and diversion. InkSure’s security solutions are virtually impossible to replicate, and provide a high degree of authenticity, accuracy, and customization. The Company’s solutions are designed to address the billions of dollars of sales revenue and taxes that are lost each year to counterfeiting, fraud and diversion on a worldwide basis.  lnkSure’s SmartlnkTM Division (“SmartlnkTM ”or the “Division”) is well known for providing some of the authentication industry’s best covert machine-readable technologies (“CMRT”) and as a technology leader in the market for countermeasures against tampering, theft, diversion and counterfeiting. SmartlnkTM is a “razor/razor blade” model that generates recurring revenue while demonstrating attractive gross profit margins. Its technology has been used on a worldwide basis on products including a national currency, tobacco tax stamps, alcohol tax stamps, bus tickets and bank checks and branded products including consumer electronics, pharmaceuticals and auto parts.

 
SmartlnkTM solutions enable authentication through the addition of special chemical markers (“taggants”) to commercial ink and other coatings that its customers already use to create their holograms, security paper, labels, packaging or documents. These taggants are applied using the customer’s technology and are invisible to the naked eye. SmartlnkTM taggants are virtually impossible to reverse engineer. These taggants create a unique electro-optic spectral signature that can only be recognized by the Company’s easy-to-use, reading devices. These readers and taggants allow clients to place a unique, exclusively-licensed code on the client’s product that can be used later without-false accepts, to determine:

  1. A product’s authenticity; 
  2. Detect counterfeits;
  3. Identify diverted items;
  4. Identify “gray” market goods;
  5. Sort products;
  6. Provide one-to-many matching; and
  7. Allow track-and-trace solutions, among other applications

InkSure’s authentication solutions were first released for commercial sales in 2000. By April of the same year, the company had received the Product and Security Image Award for outstanding achievement in product and document authentication. In 2003, the Company garnered a second commendation. Continued technological innovation earned another award in 2006, when the Product and Image Security Foundation chose InkSure as the winner in the Development of Authenticity Products category. In 2007, InkSure was acknowledged as a recipient of the 2007 Frost & Sullivan Product Innovation Award-Chipless Tag Market (APAC). The award is presented to the company that has demonstrated excellence in new products and technologies within its industry.
